Elisabeth - her digital first!
Yei, 10. March 2020 Elisabeth finally could still her hunger for knowledge. She is shy but so excited to discover her first lesson on her own on an iPad 2nd generation. Technology that is already obsolete for our children in Switzerland will do miracles for those wh have never had a chance to visit the internet. Elisabeth was at the waterpump on the school compound doing her houshold chores when she discovered our workshop at the childrens center. She and other kids grabbed every opportuntiy to peek through the window shutters of the Childrens Center, where the digital learning sessions from wiLearn 4 Life took place.
Whenever our 20 teacher participants took a break from the workshop, the children would be at the door to see if they could take advantage of unused tablets so they could play games on the tablet PC's.
Adam who leads the kids activities also took part in the Smart Learning introductory workshop desinged for teachers, administrators and ICT people. We feel very priviledged to be part of the team and start the orphans education with a mobile learning library. It will open up the world of information to them even without internet connection or city power. This offline library kit sponsored by a Romanian doctor will create new learning opportuntities for bright minds. The key to release the hidden potential in South Sudan is to make mobile learning readily accessible to the entire community. Nobody in this war torn country shall be left behind!
