SAMglobal - empowered by Internet in a Box!
N'Djamena, October 2024 | Hansueli Frehner is preparing students from the Evangelical Seminary in N'Djamena for the teaching profession. With lots of patience and determination he finally got through to wiLearn 4 Life with his request to support 3 schools in the suburbs of N'Djamena with digital learning platforms. A first assessment with ETH Geneva revealed that they had very limited practicle project experience in an African context to offer. Our wiLearn documentation, track record of aquired knowhow over more than a decade were more convincing so that the decision makers of SAMglobal in Switzerland gave the go ahead for a new digital learning partnership with wiLearn.
Hence a new IIAB library for Tchad was prepared. The setup required a total conversion of our english library to serve the french speaking countries. New logistic channels were also tested and 8 inch tablets were imported directly from Shenzhen to the capital in Tchad. The moLLi cases produced in Switzerland were then handcarried by SAMglobal visitors to N'Djamena. Thank God these steps ran smoothly. In February 2025 we finally assembled all the pieces collected over the last months at the house of Frehners and delivered the complete learning labs to the project schools during an introductory workshop. It was exciting to cover new territory - challenging to do this in french but rewarding to see the eyes light up when they access the digital library for the first time. Young teachers embraced the new tech tools with great enthusiasm. They have been excited to adopt the disruptive and empowering new technology into their current school system, which is typically based on rote learning. Let us pray and support the humbel beginnings in order to expand the project to more learners in this very needy country! Thanks to Hansueli & Silvia, SAMgloblal and everyone who made this introduction in Tchad a reality! RD
SAMglobal takes moLLi to the capital!
SAM global has taken the initiative to take moLLi to the needy children in Tchad. Who is moLLi? She is a unique case of a portable mulitmedia information platform running disconnected from the internet. Molli in short is the mobile Learning Lab interactive - the acronym for our wifi based library that can be run with solar power in any deserted place on earth. The SAMglobal team is a group of dynamic Christians affiliated with various Tchadien evangelical churches who are committed to serve the schools with a focus on teacher training.
